Permanent reduction of the amount of chemicals used

Regulation of the European Parliament concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) entered into force on 1 June 2007 and it transfers responsibility for the safety of chemical substances in the whole supply chain to their manufacturers or importers.

One of the main objectives of REACH is to ensure a high level of protection of human health and environment from the adverse effects of chemical substances and mixtures. Due to this fact it is important that all interested parties receive information on safe use of chemicals or articles containing chemical substances. Manufacturers, importers and downstream users are obliged to provide their customers and consumers with detailed safe handling information.

Slovenské elektrárne, a. s. pays special attention to the occupational safety and health standards and environmental protection which fully comply with the objective of REACH concerning identification of key health, safety and environmental aspects. Implementation of REACH in Slovenské elektrárne resulted in successful registrations of energy by-products sold onto the market.

Despite the fact that our products are not classified as hazardous and therefore the obligation to develop Safety Data Sheets does not arise, we consider it our duty to inform our customers on safe use and handling of supplied substances by means of Safety Data Sheets.
